I recently acquired the Casio BP-100 and its manual. However, after reading the manual I cannot seem to get it to take a proper heart rate measurement (thus, by default, blood pressure). I have tried many times with different fingers, positions/angles, etc. But with no luck. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Did anyone have the same problem with their BP-100? Did anyone notice how to get the watch to take measurements? Is there any helpful technique(s)? I appreciate everyone's time and help.

Hello santeh I have got the BP-100. It may be the battery that is the problem. What happens when you try to take a measurement? After the text RELAX does the watch beep and then show M-Err?

Mine does that now, I havn't used it for years. The time display, stopwatch etc works OK but it will not measure pulse and blood pressure due to low battery. So my advise is change the battery.

From what I am hering the M-Err can be from things like skin that is too thick, dry, and/or non-conductive. I hope this is not the case for my particular physiology. Do you recall if you ever got yours to take your measurements correctly?

Do you recall if you ever got yours to take your measurements correctly? I did indead get correct measurements but I had problems in the beginning too.

So keep on trying. Try to move your fingers a bit on the two sensors use the index and middle finger on your right hand. Hopefully you will get readings. You will see a sort of ECG display on the watch when correct measurements are made.

I have this watch. Hairy wrist can be a problem. I am not particulary hairy but I always get the M-Err message. Try to wear the watch in the bottom of your wrist (a no hairy area).

I get my BP detection working in that way. If you get sometimes the B-Err message when you call the BP function it is not necessarily a battery problem: I have this message too when the watch is cold (far from your skin temperature). Wear your watch enought time to warm it up and try again (several times). It is my own experience as I have an incomplete manual. Nevertheless, I have a usefull document dealing with the FAQ on the BP measurement.
