There are easily 40 and 50 dollar 2.1's out there that are complete junk and I would say if you get these for 30 and under its an absolute steal. I bought 2 sets of these one my kid used since Christmas and that's what prompted me to try these out for myself but they were sold out and I had to wait.
Now I am hoping they can last but so far I am impressed and I haven't been able to say that about creative in over 10 years. Pros: I bought these with my selection criteria being that it was one of the less expensive speaker sets I could find that included a sub just for basic sound to participate in meetings for work and youtube and wasn't expecting much. I have to say I am absolutely blown away by the sound quality, I have spent far more on speaker sets before 2-3 times the cost of this one and didn't sound anywhere near as good - and am still only plugged into my mediocre onboard audio card. The base is a little thin and has slight harmonics, but given that it is only a 4' sub, it really sounds great and the harmonics can be minimized with the equalizer. May buy the 5 speaker version for my tv.
