Went with the acrylic backboard so as not to worry about a glass backboard shattering. The pole went together perfectly and without any effort. I sprayed a little quicklube on the pole before bouncing the sections together (I did use a 2' by 2' piece of plywood on the ground). The sections went together perfectly. I did not use the ground sleeve and just cemented the pole into the ground. I used rebar to make a platform for the pole to rest on at the proper height while filling the hole with cement.
Except for hanging the backboard the installation can be a one person job. It might be helpful to have an extra hand while leveling the pole but it's not really needed. Hanging the backboard will take at least two people. Tip: use tape on the pole seams before adding concrete into the pole. Tape it really well, several wraps. Even then some concrete will leak through. I picked up some spray paint and touched up the pole afterwards, looks great.
Also filled the pole with concrete after it had set up in the hole. There is very little shake to the backboard and the rim but no more than on a similar glass backboard models. Overall the system is very solid. I will warn you that the shipping package will almost certainly be torn up as the shipping box is way to lightweight for the contents. Ours looked like it had been dropped from a moving train. Make sure all the pieces are there and that there is no damage to the contents. We were all good on the contents but I can see where that has been a legitimate issue for others.
Four stars not five for the shipping container and the lax instructions. The kids love it and have been playing non-stop. It looks great, plays great and is well worth the money. This is the best deal you can get on an in-ground, square post system. Following the advice from one of the other reviews, I abandoned the plastic ground sleeve and directly embedded the bottom post in concrete. It takes some work to get the posts together but otherwise the assembly is fairly easy. Digging the massive hole and mixing concrete are by far the most labor-intensive portions of the process.
I spent about 3 hours digging and pouring concrete on day 1, then about 1.5 hours assembling on day 2. The final product looks professional and is sturdy.

The infinite height adjustment is a nice feature. Robbie williams love supreme. I saw another comment from someone who was disappointed because their kids bent the post. I suspect that one was abused by some big kids.
If you need a system that will support 250 lb kids dunking and hanging on it, then spend $1500 and get a professional one. Otherwise, this one can withstand some moderate abuse without a problem. The first thing that happened, following the instructions to the tee, was the plastic insert became oval shaped. They tell you to put the bottom piece of the upright pole into the plastic insert, and to plumb it, and pour the cement into the 18' X 24' hole. Well when you do this, after the cement has set up, the pole is pulled out, with difficulty, and then they have you put the 3 piece pole together, and fill it with cement.
After the cement dries, they have you to insert it into the plastic insert. I won't go in, because the plastic became oval shaped. Also, don't lay the whole thing down, on the face of the backboard, it cracked the stinking plastic right down the center. It appears the tee bolt was the culprit in cracking it. The whole backboard assemble is priced at $128.
