Spell List Sublime Chord
I have been very happy with the manner bards are implemented in DDO and kudos to the developers to the work they have done on this. There is one issue/problem area I have with Bards and that is Bard spell casting and spell options. When you look at the bards in ddo there is an attempt to make 3 different types of bards: bards that melee, bards that are song based, and bards that are spell based. Healing and buff spells have been very well implemented in DDO for Bards, but what is lacking are adequate offensive or crowd control spell options.
In return for abandoning her continuing study of bardic music, a sublime chord instead masters a number of spells more powerful than most bards can ever use.
Bards in pen and paper D&D 3.5 have more options. They do not have some of the damage or insta kill spells available that the other spell casting classes have in 3.5, but what they do have are more powerful crowd control spells. Examples of this include song of discord and confusion and illusion spells and since there are no red names in pnp the dominate person spell and similiar spells are more powerful in 3.5. There are also bard prestige classes such as the Seeker of the Song which give bards meaningful aoe dps options and the Sublime Chord which give bards meaningful spell access. DDO has not given bards meaningful offensive or cc spell options in DDO. There is not the quantity of spells for bards nor prestige enhancements like seeker of the song or sublime chord which provide better spells or aoe effects.
The bard playing option has become increasingly about swinging a sword or casting cure spells in DDO. This is a diservice to the class and decreases playing options for the players. The spellsinger and virtuoso classes are huges disappointments in DDO because they do not add meaningfull options to AOE effects or better spell access. They just add a slightly better song cc or more spell points for the bard and fellow players. Where are the options? This mod with the improvements to sorcerers and FVS and the lifts of instakill restrictions on trash epic mobs and the reduction of the hit points of those mobs, and raising of monster saves/extend not working on enchantment spells spellcasting bards have never been so bad and are totally outclassed by the 4 other spellcasting classes when it comes to spellcasting options.
This post is a suggestion and a plea to add the following: 1. General spells: if illusions and confusion like spells are two difficult to implement in DDO consider giving bards some different cc spells available to other classes. One example of this is the mass hold monster spell. Beef up the virtuoso and spellsinger prestige classes to provide viable aoe damage or additional spell access. I am a huge fan of the seeker of the song and the sublime chord prestige enhancements. Give the Virtuoso some of the seeker song abilities whereby they can combine aoe songs and give them songs that do damage like the seeker of the song does.
Make the virtuoso songs faster acting so it takes a virtuoso less time to play a song then for the other two prestige enhancements. Give the spellsinger access to 1 5th, 1 6th, 1 7th, 1 8th, and 1 9th level arcane spell of their choosing from the wizard/sorc spell list. Make sure that the enhancements like beef up songs aoe and spell aoe for the various song/spells Spellcasting bards do not provide much in game so they are not played, but if Turbine enhanced their viability more people would play them. I was going to start a thread myself, then I unearthed this post, which covers most of what I wanted to say anyway.
I'll just add: Would-be enchanter bards are faced with two stronger options: Be a wizard. You'll have more spell points, and you'll have spells to cover a much greater variety of needs. Be a melee bard. You keep CC songs and Otto's Irresistible, which already cover most of what you could have done with CC spells. Cara download vidio di apk youku android. Also, you can unload solid DPS when you have nothing better to do and/or when you run out of spell points. Adding spells is a great idea; I absolutely want to see this done.
