Final Fantasy 14 Offline Installer
HI there, got a question about those two version, so I know how it work but my problem is: Since I live in Canada, On some website a key for ff14 bundle cost like 47$ (NA version cost more for some reason) On Mog Station it cost like 43$ (since it is usd I have to convert it + some taxes I guess) And then on Steam it would cost me like 36$ Finally, I guess that the same thing would apply to the sub cost. Is there any fellow Canadian that could tell me about that? Like do they always convert the price on the Steam version (it would be fair for us), I don't want to invest on one version that would make me pay more for the same thing you know but most of the time for mmos I read that the steam version is the worst (like for ESO for exemple) Plus I am actually playing the trial version from website (don'T know if I could have done that from Steam) can I still link my actual trial version with Steam, since I don't really want to do it all over again:/ Thank you guys. Aside from the option to pay with steam wallted trough the mog station the client and the sub costs are 100% the same depending on where you live (taxes) as the non steam version. You just download the base game from steam. The only other thing is you will be locked into buying new expansions from steam for now aswell. So you can only buy heavensward and stormblood from steam aswell in the near future as because of that extra payment option the mogation will lock your account into a special steam version but that is because PAYMENT options only and has nothing to do with the game itself actually.
I am trying to run final fantasy XIV beta on window 8 i have try all compatibility option but boot up for the client does not responce keep getting boot up error.
Technical wise there is no difference. You will still launch the game trough its normal launcher and also update it trough that and not steam. Heck you can set steam to offline mode and still login normally trough the launcher aswell as it updates on its own and that is not related to steam at all. Ho ok good, i thought every transaction was from steam at this point but really the only thing you do with the steam version is buying the game (wich is the cheaper for me) I guess I'll go this way. About the trial thing, since Im in tiral version right now can I still buy it on steam and use this account or should I have tried to go trial with the steam version (if that even exist?) This whole client vs Steam version is a mess.can't see why you woul'd be able to link/unlink as you want.awfull. Retail version has more sales and is usually cheaper from retainers such thing happened with Heavensward which was for 15£ on Amazon for many months while on Steam it was locked for 30£ excluding 1 sale per half year, price was lowered only with Stormblood announcment.
The same thing will happen with Stormblood, after few month prices will drop on third party retainers while Steam will keep original price until the announcemnt of 5.0 expansion or rare sale. At the beginning. @Merry, the prices on Steam follow the market rates somewhat closely [got to factor in regional pricing as well as the exchange rates - Canada.
Pretty much just the exchange rate] but the Mogstation is a lot slower and SE may decide to just keep prices at certain levels. I've taken advantage of that a few times. I've exchanged games with friends dozens of times at a discount [it's legal and works as long as the 'Regions' match. You think SE was the only one?]. ----- There is a trial version on Steam as well. Using it mandates a new SE account [which will be linked to Steam].
