Hi, I've got Xen Enterprise on ten Sun X8420 inside Sun Blade 8000. I'm trying to install VM with Windows 2000, but I can't even boot install CD. Console hang with a message: 'Boot device: Cd-Rom - success', but installer doesn't run at all. Can the source of the problem be connected with the fact, that I'M using 'W2k with no Service Pack included' CD? I also tried W2k with SP2 (original CD) and Win2k with SP4 (added into CD with a help of nlite program). WinXP install CD boots OK on the same VM. Can anybody help with diagnosing the problem?

After a deep investigation I found out that: 1) I can't boot from any Windows CD I have (2000 Professional no SP, 2000 Professional SP2, 2000 Professional SP4, 2003 R2, XP) 2) I can only boot from ISO image of Windows XP, which I have downloaded from MSDNAA. 3) I can't boot from ISO images which I created from my original CDs.
3) All Linux ISO images I've got work OK. These above concern a situation, when I redirect raw CD-ROM device or ISO image from my workstation to Sun X8420 blade module with Sun ILOM. Solution of my problem is described in Xen doc about installing Windows guests: I need to copy ISO image to Xen Host and create ISO storage repository.
I've managed to run Windows 2003 installation process that way. Message was edited by: Krzysztof Raczkowski.
